Patriotic looks for the Girls

On Tuesday I put together some patriotic looks for the gents, so now it's time for some patriotic looks for the girls!  Here are some of my favorite looks I am getting 4th of July inspiration from:

Seersucker, my 4th of July go-to

Red skirt + a white oxford

Red, white, and blue all incorporated in a subtly patriotic look

Red and navy striped skirt + a chambray oxford

A navy, white, and red striped dress

What is your go-to 4th of July outfit?

In Love

These Tory Burch sling-backs are technically pre-fall, which means they are perfectly acceptable to buy now, right?

Beautifully timeless and the perfect addition to any women's (my) closet.

Patriotic Looks for the Gents

It's hard to believe that it's almost the 4th of July.  But you know what that means, time to start thinking about what to wear!  To help start inspiring, here are a few of my favorite patriotic outfits for the gents:

Blue gingham oxford + red bow tie

American flag shorts dressed up with a blazer and a bow tie

Seersucker + a patriotic bow tie

Nantucket red pants + a navy blazer + a bow tie

Gents- what are you planning on wearing for the 4th?

Warby Parker

Warby Parker is a company that offers fashionable glasses.  They have a great concept- browse glasses online, choose five pairs you want to try and they will ship them to your home.  Then you choose the one you like, send them back and they will send your chosen pair with your prescription.  All of this for $95!  There are so many cute frames, but here are a few of my favorites:

Makeup Essentials: Eyes

I admit it: I am a makeup junkie.  Even though I prefer a more natural makeup look, I have tried just about every mascara, own more eye shadows than I can count, and am always looking for new ways to cover the dark circles under my eyes.  Through much trial and error I a few go-to, can't live without products:

Currently my favorite mascara because it makes your lashes long and full, not just one or the other.

This is a miracle product.  It is both a concealer and highlighter in one, so it covers my dark circles, while brightening the whole area.

Liquid liner is my favorite, and this is the best.  The brush lets you do fine lines for day or thicker lines for night.

The best eyeshadow pallet I have ever come across.  It has so many more neural colors, which means you will use ALL the colors, not just one or two.  Also it comes with eyeshadow base that keeps your shadow in place all day.

What are your go-to eye makeup products?

Anniversary

Today is my parents wedding anniversary.  (Because I know you two are reading this) Thank you for showing Nick and I what true love looks like.  You two have set the bar unbelievably high and I hope I am half as lucky in love as you two are.

Octopus Pants

While watching the US Open with my dad yesterday I instantly noticed Billy Horschel's octopus pants. He has gotten a lot of criticism about them, but I happen to love them.

They're fun and playful, the perfect way to lighten the mood at such an important golf tournament!

Inspiring Spaces

One of my favorite things to do when I have some extra time is to browse Pinterest.  It is so easy to get lost in all the pins and find inspiration.  Decorating pins are among my favorite pins and I scrutinize most of the ones I encounter.  I have been finding some great ones lately, some of my favorites are:

Light and airy sophistication

Books + framed black and white photos + dark furniture

Navy walls + dark wood + pops of green

Books + stripes + gold touches

Monograms + great framed prints + heavy furniture

Do you have Pinterest?  If so do you find it addicting as well?  (PS follow me on Pinterest here: Pinterest)

"I have nothing to wear"

I love this picture because it perfectly depicts how I feel at least 3 times a week.  So for those days you really have nothing to wear and find yourself browsing for some new clothes online, here are my go-to online stores:

The best shoe selection and customer service, ever.

The go-to place for timeless staples.

A great website for fun preppy pieces from a variety of brands.  Need a dress?  A piece of statement jewlrey?  A new outfit for work?  This site has you covered.

My go-to site for just about anything.

A great place to find fun pieces.  I never find myself wearing a head-to-toe Madewell look, but I love mixing their pieces with staples I already have in my closet.

Drybar

While in DC this past weekend I went to Drybar for this first time.  Drybar is a blow dry bar, as in all they do is blowouts.  You walk in and are immediately greeted by a sleek, buzzing atmosphere.  Customers are offered a drink (champagne!) and a chance to peruse the options of hairstyles.  Your hair is then washed and meticulously styled.

Two of my favorite styles offered, the Cosmo-Tai...

...and the Cosmo!

Drybar may be my new favorite thing, unfortunately there are none in Ohio.  Fortunately there is a different blow dry bar opening 5 blocks from my house called Blowout bar!  It is going to be really dangerous having it that close to my house...

The wait is over, I'm off to DC to spend a long weekend with great friends in a city I love!

Have a great weekend!

Where I want to be

Lately I have been itching to go on a boat.  I think it's the beautiful weather, but I just want to be out on the water.  While I have no plans to be out on a boat in the near future, I just keep dreaming...

I am not quite sure if it's a good or bad idea to look at these pictures...
