While perusing JMcLaughlin the other day, I noticed a fun black feather skirt.  Adorable, but totally out of my comfort zone.  After much debating I realized I can pull the skirt off, I just need to put my own spin on it.  Here is how I would wear it:

Menswear Inspired

One of my favorite style secrets is crossing over a store and shopping in the men's department.  I know, some people think it's strange, but for me it's a natural.  I started perusing the men's department for a few reasons: 1. Out of necessity, I'm 5'10'' so many women's clothes are too short on me 2. I love the look of menswear mixed with Über feminine pieces.

After doing this for years, I was very pleased to see an article in The Wall Street Journal about many other women shopping in the men's department for beautifully crafted wardrobe basics:
